My Last Year with Scientology
March 2018

I live in Eastern Europe and I met Scientology exactly 20 years ago, in March 1998. I was a university student and in general I felt lost, so Scientology seemed a worthy goal to me.  Actually, the OT levels and the Saint Hill Special Briefing Course have been my biggest goals to achieve in those days. (My pin codes and passwords contained these characters, so I remembered to these every day.) After 5 years as a public, with several courses (Objectives, M1, Student Hat, Pro TR`s etc.) and with several Dianetics intensives, in 2003 I joined the Sea Org. I spent 3 years at Flag and I went up on the Bridge as a Class V auditor and a mid Grade 0 pc. In 2006 I left the Sea Org and after few years of home study, in 2010 I have found an Independent Auditor. After achieving Clear state in 2012, and doing several hundreds (or thousands) of solo auditing on OT II, III, V and VII, I still had doubts. I had some gains, but I did not have certainty about any of my past lives (no real memories came back), I did not have any exterior experiences during the auditing, and in general, I am questioning the accuracy and the promised abilities on the OT levels. Since 2014 I have audited less and less and in 2015 I stopped. My attention (or curiosity) was still on this unsolved problem, so one year ago, I started to do something about it. In January of 2017 I started it again from the beginning. I decided, I will listen “all” LRH lectures from the beginning of the Dianetics and my purpose was to duplicate fully the technology. I hoped I can get a deeper understanding if I travel together with LRH on this road starting from the origins. I had my own doubts, but I had good memories regarding my earlier studies and trainings, so I was really optimistic, that I can clear up these stupid doubts. So, the below writing is a summary of my last year with Scientology. I tried to write down my thoughts and feelings when I listened the lectures, so these are showing how I felt during my progress of re-studying Scientology.

PART 1

Beginnings (Sept. 1950 – Dec. 1951 )

I was eager at the beginning. Good memories came back. Several years ago in the course rooms I was studying similar materials, and I had wins and cognitions. Now I started this all over again. The first few lectures were auditing demonstrations, and a little bit I lost interest. I could not get any good data from them. Then, after listening lectures after lectures (omitting few un-interesting ones, mainly demonstrations), I recognized some patterns.

Right at the beginning, in 1950, after the release of the "First Book", LRH was talking about these subjects with great certainty. It looked to me he did deep research and his statements are 100% true, and he has no doubts or uncertainties at all. He sounded that he knows best and other scientists, the government and doctors know these things wrong. It was a bit strange. He gives very new, unseen and unheard ideas, new ways of looking at life, and gives sometimes surprising answers (about man, pain, death...) and he expects that the listener without any proof, or without any scientific research document will accept all these data. Sometimes sounds a bit authoritative (however he mentions that authoritarian teaching is not good, and we should test these by ourselves).  Sometimes I had doubts about his researches, or about his stories. 99% of his stories are so well said, and he talks about hard things so naturally, without thinking and finding the actual words or details, so sometimes I just could not believe that. He has answers for almost everything in quantum physics, biology, chemistry, medicine, psychology … and I cannot recall a time when he showed any doubts in his answers. He always refers to his earlier auditing and what happened in the Dianetic Foundation, but these are only his recollections, he never showed any objective proof, paper, document (or the healed person is never there), only LRH. Many times I was lost in his logic (for example engram says this, so he will behave that way etc...), for sure I had MUs as well.

Beside these negative experiences I did continue, because there were good moments as well. There were times when I really enjoyed his viewpoints, his intellect and his humor. In those moments he seemed a real human being, who put his life into one goal... to help others. For example, good concepts were the Life Continuum, Thought, Emotion, Effort and Counter Thought, Cause and Effect. I feel grateful that I could listen to those. Many concepts, which I have learnt earlier in the course rooms, appeared in these very early lectures. I was surprised, that in those early years he already knew these things.

Milestone One (1952 Jan - March  )

I don`t know what happened at the end of `51, as his lectures started to be interesting. Like a door had been opened, new things came up. Actually I have the feeling that he reorganized all of his discoveries and he started to present them in a different way. Right in the first lecture of this year (Survival) he explains how his earlier findings are related to Survival. Life Continuum, Help, Overt Act, Dynamics and Ethics, Morals are coming from one thing, survival. And I could really see how in Life Continuum someone takes up an illness of a beloved one in order to keep that person alive. I liked that idea. Another good one was, the main purpose in life is help, and this relates to survival. (The opposite is overt act, which harms the survival and it causes different manifestations). I was also surprised, that people sometimes asked questions during his lectures. This did not happen in the 60`s and 70`s, as nobody stopped him during his talks. But at this time, it showed me that LRH was closer to the audience.

Then I arrived to the “Milestone One Lectures”. (1952 March) This was really a Milestone. If I remember right, this was the first time when I heard the word Scientology. He describes why it is more than Dianetics. This was the best lecture series until this point. It is a really good and valuable summary of the previous years. The past life and the whole track started to appear. He mentions 2-3 times, that he knows these ideas are vague, and not common in the society, but working with these data will increase the tone of the preclear and solves many problems. (It seemed to me as an honest statement from LRH.) I cannot argue what he describes on the whole track (he does not give real proofs, as usual), but I was surprised that OT data is appeared here. Those information which are kept confidential in the 1960`s and 70`s, are described here in general, and I was surprised that in 1952 he was talking about the same (similar) things which he will "research" later. I liked his descriptions about the Theta Body, Theta Line, Genetic Line and gave so many additional details, which I think is missing from the book "History of Man". I think it was really valuable. (However, I have my own reservations about the accuracy of these details and I use these data carefully.)

Also the E-Meter appears first time in this series, and I was surprised how well he could use it.  He gives a very good background how it was developed, and I think all auditors should read the summary in the Technical Volume around 52 May (pg. 221) "Electropsychometric Auditing - OPERATOR’S MANUAL"!!! It has valuable information, which I was missing from my metering course.

I need to mention that sometimes I had the feeling that he is not correct scientifically. I did not have much attention on this, just this feeling, so it did not bother me much.

A Piece of Blue Sky

After completing Milestone One I stopped for a while. I was listening his lectures, during the last 2-3 months almost every day (sometimes on the weekends for daily 8-10 hours), and around springtime in 2017 I did a small detour. I wanted to understand the background of his life. How he developed Dianetics, what kind of researches he did, and if there are any proofs from the early 50`s. I have found a book "A Piece of Blue Sky" which is not a pro Scientology book, but for me the background information were important, and those looked quite objective (with references, footnotes). After reading through, unfortunately it proved many of my doubts. (This book gives some background of LRH experimenting with Black Magic and drugs as well.) Regarding Dianetics, it mentions 2 experiments from these early years, when they tried to prove publicly (in front of an audience) the ability of a Clear and the existence of an engram, and both were failed.

After this mentioned failed experiment, (a Clear person was probably too embarrassed on the stage in front of the audience, and she could not remember the color of LRH`s tie), in September (1950?), The New York Times published a statement by the American Psychological Association:
"While suspending judgement concerning the eventual validity of the claims made by the author of Dianetics, the association calls attention to the fact that these claims are not supported by the empirical evidence of the sort required for the establishment of scientific generalizations. In the public interest, the association, in the absence of such evidence, recommends to its members that the use of the techniques peculiar to Dianetics be limited to scientific investigations to test the validity of its claims."

I also found an independent experiment. The IQ of several preclears have been measured before and after receiving some auditing. Unfortunately, this could not prove an increase in IQ. (Fischer tests on Dianeticshttp://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Library/Shelf/fischer/index.html)

Beside these strange events, I could look into LRH`s personality and his character. It was new to me that he had many personal problems and financial issues during these early years. (This is not an invalidation of his abilities, it was just a real surprise to me.. I created Footnote #1 to remember these details.)  Those details showed me that he was a great talker (he won a speech contest in his school), and some of his stories (especially war stories and WWII medals for example) have many question marks.

It seems that in these early years, things around LRH were not so simple and sunny. What I don`t understand why he did not provide more accurate and scientific proofs of his researches.  For example, when he said IQ is increasing why he did not do those tests by himself. He could prove that with documents involving other authorities, so there would be no questions at all. Beside these doubts, I still saw the workability and the basic truth in his work, but I also know (realized from these additional details) he had great speech skills, his ego and his own importance was vital to him. He was definitely a good talker.

After that book, during the summer of 2017, I wanted to know how other Scientologists are thinking. If they see the same things and if the tech works for them as LRH promised? (Or, the problem is with me?)

I knew Phil Spickler (who was with LRH for a very long time since the 50`s), and I watched all of his video interviews, and he looked an honest and very theta guy with integrity. So, I wrote him a mail:
"...I really see that the technology below the Clear is an absolute wonder, but the OT Levels somehow don`t fit in the picture. My real problem, that after several hundreds of Solo Auditing, I still cannot remember any of my past lives (with or without certainty) and I think I have a failed purpose regarding exteriorization. I did some research and started to listen LRH congresses from `51, `52, which are awesome, but when I hear Ron certainty about the whole track, and about the miracles, I cannot correlate those with my own subjective experiences. I also tried to find proof or evidence regarding those OT abilities, but I could not. Actually, I have found a case when Ron tried to show this in front of an audience in 1952, without success. And then a quote from Carl Sagan came to my mind: Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.”
I am not asking you for evidences, but if you could say something regarding those concerns I think I would be very happy..."

To my surprise, he sent this reply:
"The grades are almost universal in their appeal, where as states beyond fall into the realm of what LRH called  Para- Scientology, and in spite of the church's marketing and sales strategies the OT sections are not subject to verifiable truth and may differ widely in result. Training and auditing the grades are far more in the realm of consistent results. I greatly admire your efforts to gain that which calls to you.  I wish your further efforts will meet with success.  The journey may be, in itself, very rewarding."

Mark "Marty" Rathbun

Phil`s reply gave some hope and I felt better. I continued my research, and at this time reading comments on Marty`s blog. I followed his blog since long time, and I knew there were many people who are Scientologists since the 70`s, and based on their comments I felt they are honest. (I also knew those were only their viewpoints, and they can be wrong as well.) So, I started to read all the comments there from the beginning. I spent about 2 weeks, daily 4-5 hours reading most of it. I was curious about the discussions regarding the tech, and what kind of pro and negative opinions come up. I was curious, if I will find someone, who would say the Whole Track, OT Levels, exteriorization are true... or not.

Based on the comments from 2009 and 2010, most people are optimistic. They are happy about this new movement called "Independent Scientology". Marty seems to be a nice person, he answers, acknowledges many people. Most of them believe in the Tech, and Marty says positively, Scientology works. Few comments questions the validity of the OT levels, Xenu etc., but the general answer was, those people cannot see the forest from the tree. During reading comments after comments I have learnt many-many things about the Bridge (how OT levels were replaced, mixed together), about OT VIII (that LRH did not give exact instructions how to compile those, and some said only the first half was delivered, and during the years it was changed about 3-4 times. Several people coming back from OT VIII, developed sicknesses, died, or behaved out ethics...). Regarding OT IX, X ....some may believe those exist, but definitely not in compiled/tested form. (Marty says nothing such exist.) I liked one comment from Ralph, who said, he looked into Ron`s eye and he was sure his intentions were honest. I think most probably LRH was not lying about all the OT abilities, Whole Track... it was his reality, he believed in these. It is another question if these things were only his illusions or these can really exist in the MEST universe.

In 2011 March (16,17,18), Marty wrote 3 posts about OT abilities and OT VIII. Marty and others mentioned these skills as OT abilities: telepathy, and causing things spontaneously. They said, these are happening more often when they progressed on the Bridge, but these cannot be proven.  I had the conclusion that people think differently about the OT abilities, but what is sure, there was not a single person who stood up and said he is capable of doing these things at will.

In 2012 December (08, 09, 15), past lives and between life incidents have been discussed. Almost everyone was sure about past lives (one person said he has objective proofs, and the rest said, they have only personal experiences, no objective proofs). Regarding implant stations, there were different viewpoints, and mostly just guessing.

Regarding exterior, there were not so much discussion. I did not read about anyone, who is capable of doing it regularly, and is capable of doing supernatural things with it (reading books from distance or travelling around the universe...). Actually no one (or just very few) mentioned exteriorization as an OT ability. And exterior with full perception looks even more rare. Ralph summary seems real to me:
"An intelligent person Exterior with Full Perception could gain full economic control of this planet... But a being Exterior with Full Perception would not attach a great value to a particular body. The simple truth is that we do not have any beings on this planet close to that state."

What I learnt from reading thousands of comments from highly trained, old timer OT VIIs and VIIIs, that there is no one who achieved fully the promises of Ron. Past Life and Exteriorization are definitely happening and can give subjective reality, but no real objective evidence exist. There is not even one, well documented and proven evidence of these. Regarding Whole Track, Space Opera things and such EPs as stable exterior and handling whole track amnesia, and cause over life, regarding these there were no one who said with certainty these things can be achieved.

Probably a comment from OTDT (September 14, 2010 ) is close to my reality:
"I’ve honestly completed OT VIII (twice) and all the L’s and Solo Nots and trained extensively in Tech, Admin and Ethics, all prior to GAT. I can attest that while officially released Scientology technology, as published on any of the Grade Charts does produce higher awareness, case gain and harmonics of OT, it does not produce full OTs. "

I have also learnt about the last days of LRH (he asked Sarge to create a BT electroshock device; he said to Sarge, he "failed"; he had bad health conditions). Based on these detaiils, I think LRH was a dreamer. He found something, and received positive feedback and he believed in it. But, he did not compare those with the MEST universe. I heard that James Randi offered 1 million dollars, who could demonstrate supernormal or paranormal abilities. If being exterior with perception is possible, than looking behind a wall would be enough to win the prize. But no one tried that. (In Footnote #2, I put my summary with quotes, which could help in understanding how OT Levels were modified during the years.)

In 2013 Marty changed a lot. He was several times in a lower tone, and later he started to search and share new ideas, but that was not Scientology (Tao, Buddhism, Quantum physics... ).

PART 2

Phoenix Lectures (1952 Apr.)

Around August, I continued with the Phoenix lectures, on a bit lower tone. After my “research” I lost my enthusiasm, but I did continue. In these lectures, he talks about theta bodies, and how these are joined to the body (genetic entity). Actually it was logical, and gave answers why a human being is so complex, and why we could have more personalities. Anatomy of the Theta Body (5204c16A) is highly recommended. I found again an apology from LRH, for talking about these strange things, but he mentions, that preclear after preclear presented the same data on the e-meter, which proved to him the validity of these incidents.

I have found a Summary Booklet for these lectures, which gives a perfect overview and summary about the Milestone One and the Phoenix Lectures. It cleared up a lot of confusions. When Ron discovered the Theta Bodies, the old concepts of File Clerk, Circuits, Valences were not fully correct anymore, and it is mentioned there honestly. The data in the Summary Booklet is consistent, and it matches with later OT Levels. It gives a summary about Theta Bodies and Genetic Entity. The incidents like Boohoo, Helper... are the incidents of the GE on Earth, but Theta Bodies have many other and earlier incidents. It cleared up a lot of missing details, and I was happy to read it.

I need to mention again one characteristic of LRH. It seemed to me, that each time he discovered something new, he tried to sell that as the solution for every other problems. When he talks about Engrams, Service Facsimiles, Life Continuum and (now) Theta Bodies, he makes the impression, that if we use only that subject it will solve all of our problems. He also started to talk about the meter reactions. He said if needle goes this way, it means before earth incident, if it goes that way it is a between life incident. He says these things with full certainty without giving any background information. He also mentioned the Theta Clear, and told very attractive things about that. It is a nice thing he has these goals, but he talks about them as completed, achieved goals. (However in reality nobody achieved that.)

5205C19D:
"The Theta Clear has been in process now, as a developmental process, since about, as such, the first of January 1951. The experiments were started on it in Palm Springs. I kept the lid on it; it's such a habit with me to keep the lid on it that I feel strange about taking any part of the lid off. But it has gone along all that time until now. I know what it can do. "

Technique 80 and 88 (May – Nov. 1952)

After the Phoenix Lectures, I continued with the Techique 80 and 88 stuff. During the first lectures he talks about ARC, Thought, Beingness, Dynamics... these are pretty interesting, and contain many good thoughts. (For example the wavelength of ARC (aesthetics, emotions...), a facsimile is attached to the thetan with aesthetics, as that is the closest thing to the nature of theta.)

In Technique 88 he starts to describe the origin of MEST, Whole track which sounds a bit over complicated. He tries to be scientific with these vague ideas. He also tells that absolutes cannot be achieved (0 and infinity are absolutes). It is built in this universe, and full cause is also an absolute, which cannot be achieved. Later he describes DED, overt act, motivators, which was good. I also liked that he questions things, which are natural to us (for example religions are telling us we need to afraid of god, but why? He says it is a control mechanism.) I have found a rare, honest statement regarding himself, which has been cut out from the CoS version (only the Freezone text contains that):

5206C26A:
“When I was taking nuclear physics nobody could ever sell me an atom.  And the more they work in nuclear fission the less atoms they find.  A professor flunked me one time because I wouldn't believe in an atom.  Yes sir.  I bet I got worse school grades than anybody in this room. “

Going deeper in Technique 88, he started again rambling on the track. He tries to solve engrams and whole track incidents without running facsimiles. He looks at these, as these were energies (flows, ridges, pressor/tractor beams) and handling these energy manifestations should eventually solve cases (turning energy flows from black to white, ridges around the MEST body, and different electronic incidents, implants...). When he talked about these, it was just too much for me. I could not follow him and it was totally unreal. I have the feeling these are just only his theories. Not just the Whole Track, but his breakthroughs, inventions and magical, super processes. There is no proof at all behind his statements. Several times he said, that he is telling these data, because it was proved by the E-meter, and when these were used in practice, preclears got better, and cases were solved. But there is nothing more than his words, never showed a Theta Clear, or any proof whatsoever. He just continuously tells all these successes, but he never showed anything behind that. It is not a problem when someone creates theories, the problem is when someone wants to sell his theories as facts, without any proofs.

For example in 5209c23A - Scn. Blanketing Exteriorization (around at 40 mins):
"A ridge is as solid - it isn`t something imaginary. You can measure the ridges. You can go around a preclear with an ohm meter or an oscilloscope. They have done this quite a bit they wondered what the devil they measuring, kept walking around him with an oscilloscope and electrodes and so forth and what you get about there 15 centimeters, 20 centimeters, 30 centimeters, finally they found these ridges … It is as solid as the hand... It`s there, it is exist, it is not imaginary."

Did he ever showed any photos or documents? Actually, he could even do this whole experiment live in front of the public. If he wanted to prove his words, he could do so, but he did not do that. Never ever.  Only his words. Why? If I am an honest, scientific person, and I discover something I would give some proofs. He was just talking about those things as if those were facts.

Another example from 521029 SOP-5A - Theory of Flows
"This happened in a place up in Michigan, a fellow auditor walked down the hall, this is the most spectacular one that's been reported because it had everybody in a spin in the whole sanitarium.  ... I've mentioned this several times and this auditor thought he'd try it out. Now, walking up and down the hall, he simply stopped three or four people and he told a girl, "Come on up to present time."  She looked at him, looked around sort of, sigh.  ...this girl hadn't had a word to say for about three years, nobody could get her to talk or anything else for about three years and she had a terrible case of acne on the face; that night the whole, all the patients and everything had a party, and she got up and she made a speech about how glad she was to be there.  And three days later the acne on her face was gone, she behaved very sanely thereafter, remained stable and was discharged from the sanitarium.  Total therapy time, "Come up to present time.""

This story would be totally different, if he shows a medical document, or the report of the sanitarium of that case or anything, but as usual, nothing like that. Unfortunately I reached a point, when all of his data, his presence was too much. At this point, the Whole Track, Space Opera, Theta Traps and Body Pawns etc...for me these were false information. For example in one lecture he says, that 72 miles in North West from Kyber Pass, the invader force troops had been landed, and also he gives exact location of implant stations in Africa etc.....but he did not bother to give any evidences. Ron`s only proof is the meter and the reads on it. I just could not believe these “hallucinations”.  So, I started to be more attentive to the scientific facts he mentioned. I listened the lectures with reservations and I found some data which contradicts with the current sciences. (Exact quotes regarding age of the universe, speed of light and conservation of energy are in Footnote #3.) Those were only few examples I could catch. Then I was reading additional incomprehensible things:

5211c07   Force As Homo Sapiens And As Thetan-Responsibility
"Poltergeist: Take a match, put it in a bowl of water. If you concentrate hard enough on that match, do you know what will happen? That match can actually be pushed to the other side of the bowl of water without you breathing on it. .... Now, let's take a stupid stunt like throwing out a whole flock of energy past a lot of ridges. You sit in your head and throw out a blast of energy out from the center of your head into the next room and read a book that is in a library shelf. Used to be able to do this when I was a kid. … I used to look into the next room -- look into the next room -- and read the cover on a book. And one day I had a horrible headache right after I tried this, and I couldn't do it anymore."

521110-2 Introduction - The Q List and Beginning of Logics
"I spent a lot of time when I was a kid watching little matches float around the bowl. I could push them around a bowl once. I could sit still and do this and read minds and read books."

I just could not believe these. So, I started to surf on the internet and watched Leah Remini shows and spent some time with reading the book: Bare Faced Messiah. It confirmed my feelings, for example a statement from LRH when he talked about his daughter Alexis Valerie Hubbard:
“Ron explained, had been carefully shielded in her pre-natal life from noise, bumps and parental conversations in order to protect her from engrams. The result, Ron happily announced, was that the baby was talking at three months, crawling at four months and was free from all phobias.”
(Parade, 29 October 1950)

Hmm, the baby was talking at three months? I have also learnt from this book, that he had charisma, he could hypnotize others, so I guess he had a great presence. Also, he could audit out things what others could not. (There were some positive personal records with good resultswhen he audited people. For example one of his pc told, that LRH audited him over the phone, and he had to mock up energy...and his body was shaking... and at the end of the session he had very good wins.)

As a conclusion, this book gave me more understanding about him, and about his behavior. I think, during his lectures I was listening only his dreams. Sorry to say, but this is how I see now. If I look at LRH from 30 years later, when he was still fighting with his BTs, I feel something is wrong. There are no real OTs out there, not a single one, even LRH was suffering from his body and from the MEST universe, hiding from the world. However, I see some truth in Scientology. There are some parts, which are workable. The processes below the Clear for sure, but above the Clear as he states, I am afraid at this moment it is not achievable. What I have learnt during the past months, that I cannot take his words, I have to look myself. I decided, I will listen his lectures in a different way. I will not put attention on his vague ideas, I try to find those information only which makes sense to me. I don`t want to prove or deny him, I will just take, what I like. Probably this quote from the Messiah book is a good summary how I see LRH and Scientology at the end of 2017:

'I assumed I would have to stick rigidly to the techniques we had been taught at the Foundation,' said Chapdelaine, 'but it was very different from what I expected. He just lay down on the bed in his bedroom, closed his eyes and started to talk. I sat on a chair by the bed and snapped my fingers a time or two, like we had been taught, directing him to go back to the earliest moment he could recall but he opened his eyes, glared at me, closed his eyes again and continued talking. He was relating, very vividly, what was happening to him as a clam or a jellyfish, in terms of effort and counter-effort. It was fascinating, but I didn't know what to make of it. I learned then, pretty well, what he meant by research - it was him talking and the auditor listening.
'The problem for many people involved in Dianetics was that they accepted every word Hubbard said as literal truth, rather than a framework around which you could do things. I remember at a lecture one night he told people if they did this or that they would no longer need to wear glasses and that they would be able to throw them away forever. He pointed to a big bowl at the bottom of the steps leading up to the rostrum and at the end of the lecture people were throwing their glasses into this bowl. Don Purcell was one of them.
'Hubbard thought it was a great joke. He told me about it afterwards, making a snide remark about Purcell and describing how he took off his glasses, threw them into the bowl and groped his way out of the lecture hall. Hubbard was laughing that people would do something like that just because of what he said. Of course, it didn't work. Like every one else, Purcell had a new pair of glasses in a couple of days.
'There was no question Hubbard had an extraordinary ability to transmit to other people. He audited me once in his front room in Wichita and it was the one and only time in my life I had a perfect perception of being in embryo. I'll never forget it, it was the most amazing experience of my whole life.”

PART 3

At the end of 2017, I had my own conclusions, but I did not feel I reached a point where I can be satisfied. The next lecture series was the Philadelphia Doctorate Course, but I did not feel I am ready for that. I stopped for a month. In January 2018, I wanted to continue, but I could not. Again, I did not have enough power or willingness to confront LRH and his personality, confidence, all know best attitude. So instead of the next lecture series, I started to read Mike Rinder`s blog.

E-Meter

There were several posts regarding the E-Meter and I followed the same approach what I did at Marty`s blog: I tried to read as many comments as I could. Actually I have found some really interesting ones. Bruce Poeltz (he was the Director of R & D for meters for 3 years, he designed the Drills Simulator, repaired thousands of meters and contributed to the MK VII, Quantum and MKVIII), he seemed competent in this topic. He said:

Basically, Don put needles through his skin into the flesh beneath, and put that on an E-Meter instead of the cans. What he found was a tone arm position around .8, basically the same as clipping the leads together. In other words, the “juice” inside the body has essentially zero ohms resistance.

So, once the current from the meter gets into the body, it has a straight shot to the other can, it does not pass go and collect 200 dollars or interact with the brain or the soul or the masses of the mind or sheets of energy or anything.

Even Hubbard, early on, acknowledged this. In the June 1952 article, Electropsychometric Auditing—Operator’s Manual Hubbard says: DON’T MAKE THE ERROR OF THINKING THAT THE E-METER GOES THROUGH FACSIMILES. It goes only through the body.

He gave more explanations, regarding how sweat glands (eccrine sweat glands) can respond to emotional arousal. He put links to other studies, which are saying that these glands can basically react instantly. It may be true, or not, I don`t know, but regarding TA I feel more convinced. The arbitrary numbers of the TA positions looks really strange. For male Clears it should be 3 and for Female should be 2, which as LRH said is the same for dead bodies. (I think this was never verified by anyone.) Bruce and others, who were defending this gland theory could not answer other reads like, F/N, dirty needle, R/S etc. Bruce says he has no answers to R/S ("I don`t know."). In my opinion, it is not really important if Bruce is right (or not), because it does not change the fact that when we think of something E-meter can register that thought, either it is an electrical charge or a glandular response.

In another comment he says this:
In fact this does not completely invalidate the use of the meter, because the reactions you see do tell you something about the mental state of the preclear. But it does completely invalidate the claim that the meter proves anything about the spiritual nature of man.  And it does invalidate the idea that you can verify the validity of someone’s false memories using the meter. The meter will tell you if the person believes the false memories are true. It cannot tell you if they really are true. False memories can be just as real to the person as real memories and will react exactly the same on the meter.  So if someone is 100% invested in finding evidence that he blew up planets and enslaved entire races billions of years ago it will react just the same on the meter as the quarter he stole from his mom last weekend. One is real, one is false, no way to tell with a meter.

Arnie Lerma (who is also well known in Scientology circles) replied on Bruce earlier statement, regarding the gland theory:
I am just saying that the meter does not and cannot measure such phenomena, bullshit… The meter measures DC resistance with a shunt current of = < 100 uAmps. A 1 uAmp low frequency AC signal such as from brain wave currents, imposed upon that 100 uAmp shunt current, WILL BE NOTICED when the E-meter's "gain" is increased. which is can be, up to 128x... A small DC current entering through the hands will engage the first decent conductor it encounters.. which is the nervous system.. which goes to the brain stem…and from there who knows .. but we certainly aren’t.

Arnie Lerma seemed convinced that the brain waves can be registered on the meter. And when reading more stuff on Lerma`s blog, I saw he did real electronic experiments on this. He also said, he could connect the dots about LRH, and how Scientology and auditing is hypnosis (LRH was using different hypnosis methods, like confusing hypnosis), and during F/Ns the brain waves are the same when we are under hypnosis. He also says that almost everything LRH said is a lie or he stole from somewhere. For example Dianetics from William Sargant: The Battle for the Mind. (As a side note, George M. White (a frequent poster on Scn. blogs) says, he is doing a research that LRH took Whole Track and other ideas from Blavatsky, and Theosophy.) Regarding Arnie and his claims, I was not fully convinced about the factuality of those. I cannot imagine LRH invented F/Ns, in order to keep the pc in hypnotic trance. (Lerma has other "strange" ideas, that after the session in "trance mode" the registrar has an easier job to sell the next auditing cycle, and he also says that in the word "reactive bank" the bank means the "bank account", and the pc needs to get rid of his bank....) However the book (The Battle for the Mind) and LRH experience with hypnosis may contain some truth.

Hypnosis

This hypnosis thing popped up several times from different sources. For example it was mentioned also in the Bare Faced Messiah, that LRH had a big personal effect (impact) on others, and similar thing was also confirmed by Phil Spickler in his video interview. Phil was asked, if he ever saw any OT abilities presented by LRH. He tells a story, that during a raid in the org, police officers were looking after LRH, they were searching for him in the building. Phil was in a room with these officers, when LRH ran into the room, with a lamp (or a light source) on his arm, and pointed that to the officers. Meanwhile he asked Phil if everything was OK and Phil said yes. After that LRH said something like: “OK just continue”, then he went out. During this time, the officers did not move or react, and Phil explains that LRH used a Whole Track (Fac One?) incident to restimulate the officers. Phil says he was personally there, he saw this with his eyes, and it seems to me he would not invent such a story. Seeing this from a different viewpoint, not as an OT phenomena, it could be a sort of hypnosis.

After reading more about hypnosis, it turned out hypnosis has different variates and different levels. Here is a description, what I did not know before. ( http://nyseph.org/what-is-hypnosis/)
"What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a highly focused state of attention in which one is able to access a wealth of unconscious resources for self-growth and change. The trance state is actually a natural phenomenon, sometimes occurring spontaneously. An example of that is when you have the experience of finding yourself immersed in a compelling daydream, drifting off and possibly discovering a new solution to an old problem. Trance states also occur when you become absorbed in a book, music, artistic creation, or in conversation with another person.
Trance states occur when you are bored at a lecture and your mind wanders off, or even when you drive the same route again and again and don’t remember taking the correct turns and exits.
A two hour period can seem like half an hour."

I always thought that when I am hypnotized, I am in a sort of "unconscious" state. But looks there are lighter forms of that. Then it continues:  “concentrating exclusively on your own thoughts, values, memories and beliefs about life.... During the trance state there is a shift of attention from external to internal reality, the highly focused attention being directed on one experience at a time."

During auditing, when the pc is "in session", and he is fully focusing on his reactive mind, and he is not aware of the external environment, these kind of things can happen. (But to be honest, these kind of things can happen at any other therapeutic sessions in psychology or also in a confession in a catholic church etc.) Maybe the difference can be that LRH somehow was more experienced in the hypnosis business than other usual therapeutists. Mike posted an excerpt from LRH, in which he talks about hypnosis (and based on the strange and complex Whole Track lectures, it sounds as, he was talking about himself):
"In altitude teaching, somebody is a ‘great authority.’ He is probably teaching some subject that is far more complex than it should be. He has become defensive down through the years, and this is a sort of protective coating that he puts up, along with the idea that the subject will always be a little better known by him than by anybody else and that there are things to know in this subject which he really wouldn’t let anybody else in on. This is altitude instruction … It keeps people in a state of confusion, and when their minds are slightly confused they are in a hypnotic trance. Anytime anybody gets enough altitude he can be called a hypnotic operator, and what he says will act as hypnotic suggestion. Hypnotism is a difference in levels of altitude. There are ways to create and lower the altitude of the subject, but if the operator can heighten his own altitude with regard to the subject the same way, he doesn’t have to put the subject to sleep. What he says will still react as hypnotic suggestion. "(Hubbard, Research & Discovery, volume 4, p.324)12

Also Forrest J Ackerman (LRH Literary Agent from the 40`s) told stories about LRH, and how he hypnotized people during some events. (LRH could achieve that people would see a kangaroo in his hand, or they would receive a phone call on an imaginary phone device: https://youtu.be/uhl2bE-1LiA) I cannot ignore the fact, that these are total different sources with same or similar information. As a newer study, I have found a recent experiment by Julia Shaw (The Memory Illusion), which demonstrated me, how the mind could be fooled. She shows (with details and proofs), how it is possible to implant an information to someone`s mind, and after that the person will think it is real, and he will think that “implanted” thing really happened to him. Based on these, I can imagine that there is a chance, that if a person is a true believer of Scientology and Ron, then he can be influenced by the words of LRH. His mind can “create” or “re-create” those events (Fac One, OT III, Space Opera...) described by Ron and he can really think that those things were happened to him, even the E-Meter can register those incidents. I have no proofs of this, and I am not 100% sure as well, but theoretically, this can happen. One last thing I liked regarding hypnotism: “hypnotism is nothing more than any skillfully articulated effort to influence how we think and feel. It employs repetition. TV advertisements, persuasive political speeches and religious sermons, etc. "

Otto Roos

During reading posts and comments on Mike Rinders`s blog, I have found a link to a summary written by Otto Roos. He was a veteran Sea Org member, who was the first OT VIII and a Class XII trained by LRH and he was the C/S of LRH on the Apollo. He wrote a 26 page document, where he gives some interesting background information about Ron and his case:

When LRH was very sick (Jan '72) he sent a note to Jim Dincalci, MO (medical officer), stating "Jim, I don't think I'm going to make it". Jim called me for help. ...I wanted to get all his folders, get a Council of XII's to go through them and FES and programme the lot, to get his past auditing history corrected/handled ....He sent back an approval (plus a 7 page handwritten Commendation, "I'm delighted that somebody is finally going to take responsibility for my auditing"). Folders came in from all over the world, going back to 1948. Most of the old stuff were often scraps of paper. Solo Research data went as far as what he called then OT 19. It became a stack of some 8 feet high, an entire filing cabinet full.

The aligning and FESing, even in the hands of the XII's, took months. In the folders we found virtually every process known as well as lots of never published actions. There were thousands upon thousands of pages of LISTS (3GAXX, 3MX, 3N, R 2-12...umpty Goals/Oppose lists...enough for about ten million correction lists, so to speak), all of them O/R, over a TA 6.0. etc. This was the tech of those times, the auditors, I'm sure, did the best they could (LRH himself was one of them, soloing lists endlessly!!). Rehab data, Laws of L/N, etc., unknown at the time of these sessions, was never applied to him. F/N data the same. There were lots of, what was later labeled, "discreditable" reads.

...One day, when all the XII's were on leave, except myself, he sent a Messenger down, stating he wanted the folders. After refusal by myself (C/S hat) he became "Commodore" and ordered the folders up, sending some hefty guys down to just get them (a file cabinet full!).  They were just taken and that was that.

Then LRH did read his own folders (!) and got mad of the "discreditable" reads, and later Otto left the Sea Org. Others say those hundreds of "discreditable" reads could be R/S (or R/R on  "bad" goals).  Otto says these at the end of his document:
LRH, to me, does remain a pc in NEED, with more OUT TECH (of most unbelievable magnitude and force) on his case than any other 10 people combined. … He did give a lot of false data about his background, I have known this ever since the folders, but who cares! ...The great tragedy of it all is not even that he got caught in his overts to the extent that in the end virtually everything restimulated his OUT RUDS, but is the fact that he finally penalised himself horribly by denying himself the only thing which could have saved him, his own creation, AUDITING.

In my opinion, it contains some truth. LRH was experimenting with a lots of technologies and processes, so he could have left with several charged items, unfinished cycles and overruns. If it is true, it could explain some characteristics of the old man, and why he was in such a bad shape in his last years.

Personality vs Product

This one year extensive study taught me a lesson. When I was reading negative critics about Scientology and LRH, and some of those turned out to be true to me, I had the tendency to invalidate the whole subject of Scientology. There were times when I thought, all the things what LRH said were lies. But then, I had to remind myself to my own subjective experiences as a pc and auditor, and I found out not all of them were lies. The whole content of the Bridge contains a vast amount of knowledge, and each piece deserves its own evaluation. As someone noted, the fair approach would be, if we don`t mix the personality with the product. After this one year of study my horizon has widened, I have realized many things about LRH, and at the end, I think I received the answers I was searching for 1 year ago. I was searching for the validity and the proofs of the OT levels and abilities. Many and many highly trained people from the 70`s uniformly said, that there is no objective proof or evidence of the OT abilities (If I remember correctly I have found 2 comments when somebody said he experienced real OT abilities, but they did not provide any evidences). Probably this comment can summarize this:

clearlypissedoff says (October 10, 2016 at 9:49 am):
“I spent 11 years in the SO around LRH ... I have been around 100s of “OTs” and I was NEVER impressed or awed by the abilities of any of them.  ...Also, I personally know of so many OTs who suffered an early death (brain tumors, various forms of cancer etc.).
11 years in the SO around the highest trained auditors and the highest levels of PCs on the planet and not one example of an Operating Thetan. ... So, are there BTs really or not? Who cares – no results either way.”

My own subjective experience (after hundreds of OTIII and OTVII solo session) is similar to this. However the Grades, the Objectives, the Word Clearing and Rudiments etc... gave me life changing wins, so the general validity of the auditing cannot be ignored. Especially, if we look at a special magical rundown, which caused me a little bit of “headache”. It is a sort of OT thing and it seems to work (there are proofs, and people can attest this happened to them in the physical universe). This magical technique is the Suppressed Person Rundown. I have found several success stories, and I think those are real, and in some cases there is no other explanations, that actually the auditing worked and it changed something at the other person far away (https://www.mikerindersblog.org/scientology-and-suppressive-persons-types-a-b/):

LDW says (August 28, 2016 at 2:35 pm):
“Having now audited nearly 5,000 hours on hundreds of different people I can state with some certainty that if you audit exclusively for the person’s own gain in the areas he/she wants to have gains in, that you can do quite a bit of good.

Many years ago I was involved in a rather nasty divorce. My Ex was so ticked off she was trying to get me tossed in jail for imagined grievances. I got the suppressed person rundown. After the fourth or fifth session she called me at work and told me she thought she’d been acting unfairly and had dropped all charges. I hadn’t spoken to her, only her lawyer, for over six months. There was nothing that I could think of that would have prompted such a move on her part except the auditing. That rundown deals mostly with problems and she and I never had any problems dealing with each other after that.”

These kind of real life evidences can be objective proofs. It is reproducable and it is happening in high numbers. But the problem is that LRH and the Church are selling the unverifiable OT abilities as something which people will achieve uniformly as they progress on the Bridge. And this is a lie. There is not a single verified evidence for that. As someone noted, if the OT Levels have been sold honestly, saying, there is the possibility to achieve higher states, but there is no objective proof for that, and if you want you can test it by yourself... I think this type of approach would be more fair.

One year ago, I honestly wanted to understand the technology and, how it evolved from the beginning. I thought that through this study, I can put myself back to the Bridge and I can continue my auditing. But I got a different viewpoint, and now I cannot believe everything what LRH says. I see now, the inconsistencies around him and around the OT Levels. Actually, I feel betrayed. I was a student who followed his instructions precisely (to my best knowledge). I think, I always cleared my misunderstandings, I asked the Supervisors for additional references, and I tried to understand precisely each small details. Even RTC representatives came to me once, and told I should not be so conceptual and I just need to understand the materials of the course. And later when RTC passed my video on the Class IV internship and I had to go to the Examiner to attest it, I went to the Intern Sup (it was on Thursday, few hours before 2 o`clock), and I told her, I am sorry, but I don`t feel I am a real product of the internship. (She was yelling at me and at the end, I went to the examiner). My point is, I tried to be honest, 100% honest with his sacred writings, and after achieving Clear, and continuing with the OT levels, I feel he betrayed me and my religious faith.

He promised something, which is simply not possible to achieve as he stated. He did not do scientific researches he just called them that way. There is not a single OT, who took the responsibility during the last 60 - 70 years, and scientifically proved the claims of Scientology. Not a single person who stood up and said: Yes I can prove the Exterior or I can prove one OT ability, and with this I can prove LRH was right, and I can bring back the reputation of Ron. But there is not a single person like this.

As I learned, the Dianetics book was a huge success, probably because there was some truth in it. People tested it and they had wins. That technology and the Dianetic auditing was a real thing, but somehow people could not achieve the state of Clear (as it was described in the book), so LRH came up with new tools and new technologies and the rest we know (Whole Track, Space Opera ...)

Mike Rinder wrote this:
Hubbard himself offered this up his ENTIRE career in scientology. He promised certain things with Clear and Dianetics. When those didn`t materialize there was an almost endless stream of “here is what will get you to Clear” — scientology itself. Then through the progression, Route 1, Goals Processing, Effort Processing, Creative Processing, Power Processing, Clearing Course, OT levels, NOTs, Super Power — as each did not deliver the promise, the next thing would be invented and presented as “here is the solution”.

So, it was an interesting journey and I have received the answers I was searching for and I noted down my experiences, for the reason that others may can get also some benefits from these.

Footnote #1: My collected details about the early days:

In June 1950, Hubbard gave the first full-time Auditor training course to ten students at the Elizabeth Foundation. By the end of 1950, five new Hubbard Dianetic Research Foundations had been added to the first at Elizabeth. (There were hundreds of thousands of dollars involved.)

In 1951, income had dropped dramatically. LRH had some family and personal problems, directors of the foundation resigned and the Foundations were unable to meet their payrolls. In April 1951, Hubbard himself resigned from the Hubbard Dianetic Research Foundation.
In 1951 Don Purcell (enthusiastic dianeticists, millionaire) offered funds and new premises in Wichita for a new Foundation. He also offered to pay the debts of the original Foundation in Elizabeth. The remaining Foundations were closed. (In the book was mentioned that during this time many followers left, in conferences 50-100 people showed up.)
In 1952 February, Hubbard resigned from the Wichita Foundation, due to the debts of Elizabeth, which was owned by Wichita. The Foundation filed for voluntary bankruptcy. Hubbard filed suits against Purcell. (520225 HPC lecture talks about this.)
After deserting the Wichita Foundation, which was still maintained by Purcell and it stayed with teachings of Dianetics, Hubbard tried to establish his rival Hubbard College at the other side of the city of Wichita. Hubbard gave a series of lectures that changed the whole ideas of Dianetics. He demonstrated the "Electro-psychometer" (or "E-meter"), he talked openly about whole track (matters which in later years became the secret "OT" levels), and started to favor the word Scientology.
By April 1952, Ron and Mary Sue had left the short-lived Hubbard College in Wichita, and moved to Phoenix, where they opened the Hubbard Association of Scientologists.
Beside Phoenix, Philadelphia was the most successful of the Association centers, where in December 1952, Hubbard gave the Philadelphia Doctorate Course lectures (to an audience of just thirty-eight).
Both the Church of American Science and the Church of Scientology had been incorporated by Hubbard in December 1953,  along with the "Church of Spiritual Engineering.". The Scientology organizations grew steadily and, in the spring of 1959, Hubbard purchased the Maharajah of Jaipur's English manor house at Saint Hill.

Actually this similar story has been told by LRH in the lecture: 520415 - PHOENIX TALK ABOUT WICHITA AND PURCELL (THE SUCCESS OF DIANETICS). He is pretty honest in that lecture about his bankrupt and that he was not good managing the business of the Foundations.

Some additional details about his character and speech sklils:

Hubbard enrolled at the Woodward School for Boys on February 30, 1930, and graduated that June. At nineteen, Hubbard was a year late in graduating from high school. At Woodward, Hubbard won an oratory contest.

In 1984, Captain Thomas Moulton testified in court as a witness for the Scientologists (Moulton had served briefly with Hubbard). According to Moulton, on the day the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, Hubbard had been landed .... when the Japanese came in, he took off into the hills and lived up in the jungle for some time .... Hubbard also told Moulton that he had been hit by machine-gun fire, in the back, in the area of the kidneys .... He told me he made his escape eventually to Australia .... He and another chap sailed a liferaft... to West Australia...(Sailing over 700 miles)

In fact, Hubbard's naval record shows no time on Java. He had been ordered to active duty on November 24, 1941, and, on the day Pearl Harbor was attacked, Hubbard was half a world away from Java in New York.

From his Black Magic days, this was written about him:
I liked Ron from the first. He was of medium build, red headed, wore horn-rimmed glasses, and had a tremendously engaging personality. For several weeks he dominated the scene with his wit and inexhaustible fund of anecdotes. About the only thing he seemed to take seriously and be prideful of was his membership in the Explorers Club (of which he was the youngest member), which he claimed he had received after leading an expedition into the wilds of South America, or some such godforsaken place. Ron showed us scars on his body which he claimed were made by aboriginal arrows on this expedition ....

Footnote #2:  My summary from Marty`s blog regarding the OT levels and the Bridge:

RD | January 21, 2013 at 6:13 am
When NOTs was first issued in 1978, it was a rundown supposed to handle what NED was handling but on an OT. As it was too long to complete with an auditor, it was worked out in solo around 1980. That was NOT’s and Solo NOT’s. Only one level actually.  The original OT5, 6 and 7 were entirely different. They were level of OT abilities, like “operate exterior”. Actual OT levels. They were for no apparent reasons removed from the grade chart, and replaced by NOT’s audited called New OTV, the Solo NOT’s course, new OTVI, and solo NOT’s auditing becoming new OT VII.  If you can find a grade chart from 1978, it’s all in it. This grade chart for me is the last one which was pretty much on source.

 KatS | August 6, 2010 at 11:57 pm
The new OT4-7 were introduced several years before LRH passed on. When NOTs was introduced, there was no explanation to original OT7s regarding their achievements on the grade chart. Those who did the old OT4-7 were ignored in the switch to NOTs.

Tom M | March 17, 2011 at 5:01 pm
So in 19 September 1978 in LRH ED 298 Int (Pg 281 Tech Vol XI), LRH says about OT 8:
“Although OT VIII has been researched earlier I knew there was something that had to be handled before I could release OT VIII. “NED for OTs” does just that and now I am pleased to announce the release of OT VIII which will be available at AOs and Flag to OTs who have completed “NED for OTs”.

At the time of this LRH ED the original OT sections were still there (OT IV, V, VI and VII). As you can see, NED for OTs was not labeled as an OT section. It seems to be a R/D. I think one had to do old OT IV (never be trapped again) old OT VI (Exterior with full perception) and VII (Rehabilitation of full intention) to do VIII. LRH did put out a bulletin in 1979 saying that one couldn’t do the old OT sections without doing NOTs first, so he instructed one and all to do NOTs and then those OT sections. At the time of this LRH ED those old OT sections were still being done and so he was assuming they were being done.

I see that finishing SOLO NOTS would be end of negative case gain, in other words end of the Walls of Fire. But no OT drills done to this point. So it is not visibly possible how someone could be at cause over life without OT drills.  It appears to me that in order to be “Cause Over Life” one would have to do the old OT IV-VII where you have real, honest-to-God, OT-Maker drills. Then you cap it all off with the REAL OT VIII and you would have a being who is cause over MEST Life, Tought, Form and Event.

Margaret | August 6, 2010 at 5:38 pm
I know that some of the longer-term (and higher tech trained) Independents think that doing the original OT 4-7, *after* Solo NOTs may be the best way to go. That one seems to indicate most to me, since it seems that NOTs was put right after OT III as an undercut to the original OT levels.
-------------

The above comments make sense to me and based on those my knowledge regarding the "correct" sequence of OT Levels on The  Bridge would be: OT I, II, III, NOTs, old OT IV, old OT V, old OT VI, old OT VII, and original (or old) OT VIII.

Regarding OT VIII, there are also several comments that it was changed about 4-5 times. It needs more research to find out, if the correct, standard OT VIII is available somewhere or not. (As mentioned above people wrote they witnessed many OT VIII after coming home from the ship have died or got sick or did strange things.)

Additional info from L. Kin books (Scientology More than Cult, Scientology A Handbook for Use …)
The original levels above OTIII, OTIV-VII, contained exercises concerning exteriorization. These levels therefore constitute an attempt to attain what always had been attempted after Clear: the stably exteriorized thetan, once called “Theta Clear”. And above that, one step higher, there is OT VIII as a vision: “OPERATING THETAN, OTVIII: Ability to be at cause knowingly and at will over thought, life, form, matter; energy, space and time, subjective and objective” [1]. Which is nothing else but the Cleared Theta Clear postulated already 17 years earlier - unattained then as well as today (1990). Neither then nor now are there the necessary auditing procedures in a finalized version.

The changes which were made since 1978 regarding the bridge, must be understood in this context. The OT levels IV-VII were an attempt to fulfill the promise of Theta Clear and stable exteriorization but didn’t hold up to it. As well it became increasingly clear that even OT III was not enough to do away with all the entities whirling around the thetan. People either were not aware of them and became aberrated without knowing, or they - as auditors - could not handle them. Consequently the old exteriorization-levels IV-VII were taken off the bridge in 1978, to become replaced by a set of “anti-entity” OT-levels. These became known under the name of “New Era Dianetics for OTs”, abbreviated NOTs.

Footnote #3: Inconsistencies:

Inconsistency regarding the speed of light, in Scientology 8-80, page 100:
"Within the spectrum of light itself, there is a measurable difference of speed."

Wikipedia says, that different colors of light (in vacuum) has no difference in speed. (Even in the air, speed of the different colors of the light (spectrum) is the same.

Inconsistency regarding the age of the MEST universe (5204C15):
“And we are older, much older as a race, than the MEST universe. The MEST universe is only about 3.4, something like that, billion years old, and anybody here is older than that. Alright.”

However, Wikipedia and other scientific sources tell us, with many many proofs, that according to research, the universe is approximately 13.8 billion years old. (In some lecture LRH mentions one time, that these "years" are probably not the same years what we know here on the Earth. He does not know what are those exactly, he only knows that, when he uses the word "year" it reacts on the meter.)

Inconsistency regarding the conservation of energy (521110-2 Introduction - The Q List ...):
"As far as this universe itself is concerned, you can create energy into it but you can't destroy energy out of it. It has a selfperpetuating law in it called the conservation of energy, which makes it an expanding universe, because you can actually create energy into it."

After some Googling, I have found, the first law of thermodynamics is a version of the law of conservation of energy, where the total energy of an isolated system is constant; "energy can be transformed from one form to another, but can be neither created nor destroyed". (from Wikipedia)
As I checked the first law of thermodynamics is the culmination of experiments throughout centuries, and they could not find an exception even in quantum physics until now. (People postulated the existence of the neutrino, because they saw a case where the first law was incorrect (in proton decay), but then neutrino turned out to be the right answer, as confirmed by experiment after experiment.)
